Mark Doolittle, a graduate of the University
of Southern Illinois at Carbondale, has been working in the field of photography
for over 13 years. Working
in both commercial and fine art photography, Doolittle's work has been
featured at the Des Moines Art Center, Percival Galleries, Heritage Gallery
and currently at ArtHouse on Ingersoll.

Doolittle's photography is a study of the beauty found in the every day,
the commonplace. In his most recent body work, this is brought into focus
with saturated color and detail: the pollen in the face of a wildflower,
the gnarled branches of a hundred year old tree, the geometric pattern
of an onion bag.

Doolittle is also very interested in the dramatic
play of light against dark: the white light crashing through a window,
the
shadow created by the prongs of a fork.
Doolittle is owner of Doolittle Studios, in the East Village of Des Moines.
The studio offers complete artist's services including
slide and film photography, resume/biography writing and fine art printing
and framing. Thru his other company, Etomic Power, Doolittle also offers
web design/development, hosting, e-commerce and name registration.
